Edwin L. Wessman, age 91 of Oak Forest, IL passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Valparaiso, IN.
He was born on October 15, 1934 in Chicago, IL. The son of Edwin and Ellen Erickson Wessman.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, hunting, and square dancing. In his younger years he enjoyed scuba diving. He also did Search and Recovery Diving in Illinois.
He is survived by his three daughters, Cheryl Hodge of Michigan City, IN, Lori Berg of Osseo, WI, and Cathy Wessman of Fairchild, WI. 23 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Duke, sister in law Lois, son William, and sons in law Denny and David.
A visitation for Edwin will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 10am-12pm at McKenzie Funeral Home 15618 S. Cicero Ave., Oak Forest, IL 60452.
Funeral and gravesite service will immediately follow, from McKenzie Funeral Home to Skyline Cemetery 24800 S. Governors Hwy., Monee, IL, 60449
