In Loving Memory of Jessica

Jessica Marie Matusik, age 35 of Joliet, formerly of Oak Forest, passed away suddenly on October 4th, 2026 .

Born on September 29th, 1991, Palos Heights. Jessica was the beloved daughter of Jeff Matusik ( Patti Huzl Schmidt ) & Tracy Matusik-Barkauskas, (née Specht), Dan Barkauskas. Beloved sister of Chistopher Matusik, Taylor Barkauskas, Nick Barkauskas and Mike Barkauskas. Granddaughter of Ron and Virgina Specht.

Throughout her life, Jessica touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her infectious smile and laugh, nurturing & fun loving personality, and willful strength.

Jessica found joy in music, dancing, her family and friends, gardening and most of all, spending time with her dogs.

Jessica leaves behind a legacy of love and beautiful memories cherished by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and lots of great friends.

She was preceded in death by Grandparents Walter and Donna Matusik.

Those who knew Jessica will forever carry her in their hearts. Although her time with us has come to an end, the love, laughter, and memories she gave us will live on forever.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th, 2026 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm with a prayer service starting at 5:30pm at McKenzie Funeral Home, 15618 S Cicero Ave, Oak Forest, IL 60452

In lieu of flowers, any monetary gifts will be donated to an animal welfare charity.

Rest peacefully, Jessica. You were deeply loved, you will be forever missed, and your memory will live on in all of us.
