He met his wife Susan working at Garofalos in town.
From a young age, Michael could be found tinkering around and taking apart various objects to find out how they worked, how it could be made better, and if broken, how it could be fixed. Forever a servant and a tinkerer, from working on his and friends cars, lawnmowers, bicycles, and everything else.Michael worked at the former Mobil gas station on 183rd and Pulaski for many years until 1990 when he began working at Monroe Truck Equipment out of Joliet, IL and also started his career at the Country Club Hills Fire Department which he served for 30 years retiring in January of 2020 at the rank of Lieutenant and Master Mr. Fix it. After leaving Monroe and the fire department, he went to work for the City of Country Club Hills Public Works and as a commissioner for the Police and Fire commission until shortly before his passing
.Always the man to share his skills, knowledge, words of wisdom or fix your whatchamacallit with duct tape, his pocket knife and the part he had "sitting in the garage" he will forever be missed by all that ever got asked by him, "WHATTAYADOIN?!"
