Richard “Dick” Sanders of Oak Forest, IL passed away March 28th at the age of 86 years old. Born in Chicago, IL on May 7, 1938 to Rich and Verna (Myers) Sanders. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynnette. Richard was a loving father to Jeffrey (Deanna) Sanders and Michael (Milka) Sanders; a proud grandfather of Cutler, Jordan (Chris), Hunter, James, Mason, Josey, and Mickey; a dear brother to Bill (deceased), Joan, and Dave; and a fond uncle of several nieces and nephews. Dick was a graduate of Morgan Park High School where he also built an illustrious career as a Math/Science teacher and administrator. He remained a devoted member of the United Methodist Church throughout his adult life.
Dick was passionate about spending time with his family at their cabins on Moose Lake in Wisconsin, nurturing his passion for photography, boating, and front porch conversation. Dick was also an avid “Friend of Bill” for much of his life.
As we remember Dick, let us cherish the laughter and warmth he brought into our lives. Known for his boundless generosity and captivating storytelling, Dick’s legacy will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he loved.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dick's life during the visitation on May 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a brief service at McKenzie Funeral Home,15618 S Cicero Ave, Oak Forest, IL, 60452.
ALL friends and family are invited to a luncheon at Beggars Pizza immediately after the service. Beggars is located right next door to the funeral home.
